INITIAL HOME CARE FOR WESTIES

INITIAL HOME CARE PROCEDURE

FOR WESTIES

Your puppy will be hungry when he/she arrives at his/her new home as I don't feed them prior to travelling, for obvious reasons.

You can start your pup on a 1/3 normal coffee mug of the Puppy biscuits with a little warm water to moisten 3 times a day.

It is important to feed Puppy biscuits only, for the first week or two, to give him/her time to settle in to his/her new home.

Pups, like babies, can have sensitive tummies & the stress assocated with their trip home & the new environment &

circumstances can affect their digestive system, so it is best not to challenge them further with new types of food.

If you have collected your puppy personally you would have been given some food to take home & instructions to

gradually change over to the Proplan (or similar) during the first week.

Let the pup get used to the new biscuits for another week before introducing things like raw egg yolk, chopped raw

vegies, etc.

First thing in the am, take him/her out to the toilet, feed him/her in their own special place in the house, play, toilet, sleep.

Feed him/her again around 3pm following same formula & lastly just before you go to bed, last meal for the day, take him/her out to toilet, sleep.

Such will be his/her routine for a while.

Please utilise your information sheets well.

A lot of work has gone into them to assist all

to make a smooth transition, especially the

puppy.

Your puppy will appreciate a nice soft toy about the same size as him or herself to replace cuddling up to littermates.
